Getting Started

Welcome to the library research guide (LibGuide) for HSP 316: Accommodations Management.    Please use the tabs along the top of the screen to access these sections of the guide:

Logging in from out of network: Library databases used to retrieve eBooks, articles and other materials are password protected.  Use the same username and password you use to access your Lakeland email account and Blackboard. 

Search terms

Take time to consider appropriate search terms to use.  Do not enter entire sentences or questions.  Select terms that capture the concept(s) you are researching.  Here are some suggestions for your case study assignment:

  • hotels and employee empowerment
  • hotels and career development
  • hospitality industry and turnover
  • hospitality industry and employee selection
  • hotels and employee motivation

Consider broadening your search to learn how other industries deal with:

  • onboarding
  • succession planning
  • new employee orientation
