Tips for Case Study Project

1Identify the important issues in your case study such as:

  • advertising
  • pricing
  • supply chain management.

2. Use these terms along with the company name to search for articles.  Example: Wal-mart and "supply chain management"

3. Use your terms and the name of a competitor to identify other practices. Example: Amazon and "supply chain management."

4. Use your terms identified in Step 1 above and the broader search term "retail industry" to get an industry-wide perspective.

Tips for Slide Deck Project

Identify terms associated with the focus of your field work.  Example: store layout, signage, customer service, employee training etc. Search for articles in library databases as described above for the case study project.

Check the company's web page, Facebook and other social media sources for customer feedback.
