MKT 350 Marketing Principles: Find Company Information

In addition to articles, Business Source Complete can connect you to extensive company reports, industry overviews and market research reports and more. 

To limit your search to a specific type of document or publication, enter you search terms. Scroll down the initial search screen.  Under the Search Options: Limit your results section, by Document Type or Publication Type. Use the pull-down arrows by either choice to see the menu options. Make your selection. Only select one per search. Click Search. 

Scroll down the initial search screen to Discover Topics area. Click Business. Click Company Dossier.  Pop ups must be enabled. Coverage includes public and private companies. Click the Industry tab to search for industry information by keyword or SIC code.

How many similar companies are located in your state, county or city?  Nexis Uni's Company Dossier will create a list of companies meeting your criteria. Follow these steps:

You will be required to log in.  Use the same credentials you use to access your Lakeland email and Blackboard.

To get started:

1. Scroll down the Nexis Uni search screen.
2. In Discover section, click Business. 
3. Click Company Dossier. (Pop ups must be enabled.)
4. Click on Create a Company List tab.
5. Move through the form entering information in the appropriate boxes. For example, to determine how many shoe stores are in Wisconsin, enter the NAICS code (448210) and in Geographic Information section, select United States in Regions/Countries box and Wisconsin in the States box.
6. Click Create.
7. You can Customize the List to add additional information about each company before you download the list. 
8. Click on the name of any company to access information about that company only.
